I wasn't sure how to ask you to your face, though now that I think about, I probably could've asked the way I'm about to now.

Would you like to go to the 'Welcome Back to School' ball with me? Now normally I'm not big on attending large social gatherings, but for you, I'm willing to make an exception. I assure you I'm quite good at dancing, so you won't be embarrassed.

I suppose I could permit myself to attend with someone I only met a few days ago. Of course, you could have asked me to my face and the answer would be the same. So long as you live up to the expectation you have now set, it shall be thoroughly enjoyable. I happily accept your invitation and look forward to meeting you at the ball.
